While Covid-19 and this entire global pandemic has put a massive hindrance on a lot of things, the one thing that has not been suppressed has been people’s sense of adventure. In fact, Overlanding and the people doing has grown significantly in the last 2 years, and a lot of that growth has come from the ability for people to work from literally anywhere. And we see it all now from the most off-road capable trucks to cars like Toyota’s Rav-4 being lifted and outfitted with pop-up roof tents and big bright light bars. While most big automakers now have some kind of off-road/Overlanding capable vehicles, BMW’s offerings, or rather lack thereof, leaves a bit to be desired. That did not stop this BMW enthusiast from trying to do something a little bit different. A quick note, this specific 2012 X5 normally comes equipped with a set of 20″ staggered wheels. In order to make this X5 more capable, we actually went smaller on the wheel down to an 18″ but kept it factory BMW. Then, we increased the size of the tire to add a little bit of meat which in turn increases the types of terrain this X5 is now capable of going on. Here’s the thing though, that’s not the only thing required to get this kind of a stance, however, we can’t give up all of our secrets! Looking forward to seeing the adventures this BMW X5 goes on.
